Materials Used at 39 Hunter Street
St Hilliers Contracting Pty Ltd - 39 Hunter Street (Heritage Building)
At the St Hilliers Contracting Pty Ltd site at 39 Hunter Street - a 6 star green heritage building which embraces its features, its heritage and the future. We have completed the refurbishment of all windows doors and floors. This involved using the old materials on site and any new materials i.e. eco ply and A bonded glue had to be used to conform to the heritage of the building
St Hilliers Contracting Pty Ltd - Anglican Retirement Village:
One of our recent projects for St Hilliers Contracting Pty Ltd was at the Anglican Retirement Village at Warriewood, this involved the supply and installation of roof trusses, frames, skirting boards and architraves for 132 ensuite rooms plus commercial areas. Materials used included renewable plantation timer. The milestones on this project plan had to be strictly adhered too taking into consideration other trades on site.
The agreed contract sum for the above project was $299,000 for the fit out of skirting, architrave, bathrooms and white goods to 299 apartments at 707 - 745 Anzac Parade, Maroubra, which commenced 25th July 2004 and scheduled to finish February 2005. However the project continued until July 2005 due to numerous day labour variations (see below) requested by Abi Group under the ‘Site Instruction’ methodology which subsequently increased the contract sub to $621,906.00.
Although the project ran very smoothly we did encounter delays due to other trades on site trying to complete their works within time scales yet hampered by their own delays, (the domino effect). In some cases this meant leaving the task at hand and moving to another area or another job as the case may be, but where possible work around processes were put in place, with everyone working together. It also helped that a Millennium Carpentry Services Pty Ltd senior manager was on site to deal with any issues as they arose i.e. delays, industrial relation issues etc.

ABI Group - Pacific Square - Maroubra
Walkers Construction-Rhodes Shopping Centre
This project was contracted at $600,000 and for completion on the 29th November 2004, this was subsequently increased to $990,000 following review by Walkers Construction which increased the scope of work. We not only kept within contract sum but achieved target completion date by having onsite supervision, implemented a 24/7 work schedule close to completion date, held ongoing meetings with client then disseminating any information to employees by holding regular tool box meetings.
Although we were under pressure to complete the works within the contractual date we acknowledge this was achieved by the teamwork involved not only from Millennium Carpentry Services Pty Ltd employees but other trades on site and the rapport and respect they had for each other resulting in quality craftsmanship from all concerned to the end product.
Walker Group Construction - Rhodes Waterside
We were involved with WGC in their Concord Project which commenced in 2002 with an approx completion date of 2009, this work has been divided into 11 different stages and the overall project goal is for a combined 1,500 units including townhouses, penthouses and luxury apartments.
Millennium Carpentry Services Pty Ltd have been involved with WGC with both the design and construction and to date we have been successful in contracting stage 1,2 and 3 with stage 1 and 2 completed and stage 3 ongoing, with a total completion to date of approximately 400 apts.
Scope of works included skirtings, architrave, timber flooring, timber decking, timber privacy screens, internal hand rails, lighting panels,
bathroom accessories, white goods, internal and external seating and privacy screens to pool, pergolas and recreational areas.
In May 2005 we were the principal contractor for the Dog Kennel Redevelopment at DMM. A contractual sum of $48, 625 and a completion date of the 24th June 2005 was agreed. We achieved budget target however a variation was requested by DMM which increased the final sign off sum for completed works to $51, 397. All monies were claimed under progress payments as per contract. As with any project comprehensive safe work method statements (SWMS) were drawn up with particular reference to epoxy (hazardous substance) and supplemented by materials safe data sheets from the supplier (MSDS).

National Indigenous Development Centre-Redfern
Another Project worked on for St Hilliers Contracting Pty Ltd was at the heritage building - National Indigenous Development Centre (NIDC) - Redfern. This invoiced the refurbishment of over 100 windows to match existing in authenticity, door frames and doors and the construction of decks and fences and taking into account the experience we have in heritage buildings we were the preferred tenders for this project

Due to a fire at the main storage area a new roadway for access to new a storage facility was requested and required our urgent attention. The project involved the design and construction of roadways capable of taking a 14ton payload and the design and construction of bollards to withstand a 14ton impact. We completed this project within a very tight time frame as we were able to utilise the services of some of our sub contractors in conjunction with re scheduling our own workforce to carry out the works as requested. All works were certified by a design engineer upon completion before sign off to DMM.
